Andrew Fraser

Andrew Fraser is a Barrister at the Queensland Bar. Before being called to the Bar, Andrew was a solicitor with a national firm working in litigation and was an Associate to Justice Atkinson of the Supreme Court of Queensland.  He has a Bachelor of Laws from QUT with First Class Honours.

Since being called to the Bar in 2008 Andrew has developed a broad civil practice and regularly appears as an advocate in applications, trials, appeals and mediations. He has particular expertise in the law of succession and has appeared on a range of estate and trust matters in the District Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in Queensland including provision applications, will construction matters, informal will applications, charitable trust matters and applications by trustees for directions.

In 2018, Andrew was named in Doyles Guide as a leading junior counsel in Queensland and recommended junior counsel in Australia for Wills & Estates Litigation

In 2019, Andrew was named in Doyles Guide as one of Queensland’s preeminent junior counsel in Queensland and recommended junior counsel in Australia for Wills & Estates Litigation.

In 2020, Andrew was named in Doyles Guide as one of Queensland’s preeminent junior counsel in Queensland and leading junior counsel in Australia for Wills & Estates Litigation.

Andrew is currently one of the Counsel Assisting to the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.

Andrew is a nationally accredited mediator and has chambers in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Simone Fraser

Simone has been admitted as a legal practitioner since 2007 and commenced practice at the Bar in 2013.

In addition to her work as a mediator, Simone enjoys a busy litigation practice, focussing primarily on family law.  Simone regularly appears in the Federal Circuit  Court and Family Court in her capacity as a barrister, including being led by senior counsel and has experience in High Court leave applications.

Simone undertakes work in both parenting and property matters.  Simone has been involved in a number of complex and high-end family law property matters involving sophisticated corporate structures, intergenerational family and corporate relationships and large scale farming entities.

Simone is a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, a nationally accredited mediator and a nationally accredited family law arbitrator.

Prior coming to the Bar, Simone was an Associate to Justice Philippides of the Supreme Court of Queensland and worked in private practice. Simone subsequently spent several years working in-house before returning to private practice as a solicitor.

Simone was the recipient of the vice-chancellor’s scholarship from Bond University where she completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of International Relations. She also holds an MBA which she completed at the European School of Management, Paris.

In 2021, Simone is named in Doyles Guide as leading junior counsel in Queensland for family law.

In 2021, Simone was named in Doyles Guide as a recommended family law Mediator in Brisbane.

In 2019, 2020 and 2021, Simone is recognised in Doyles Guide as recommended junior counsel for parenting and children’s matter in Queensland.

Simone has chambers in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.
